Research field: mass media and international relations, study of the South  China Sea issue, international communication, international news, history of  journalism and communication, Taiwan and the Southeast Asian media studies,  media history

Courses: 1) for the  undergraduates: a history of foreign  journalism enterprise, English-Chinese news translation, news writing in  English based on information in Chinese, media history, English newspaper  reading, an introduction to communication theories, a study of foreign  journalism giants, criticism of yellow journalism; 2) for the postgraduates:  media analysis, a history of communication

Hosted projects:
   1) South China Sea Issue: Public  Provocation of US, Philippine and China's Countermeasures, funded by China  Association of Maritime Affairs, CAMA

2) Media Diplomacy Games in  Context of South China Sea Territorial Disputes, supported by the Fundamental  Research Funds for the Central Universities

3) Study on Media’s Roles in  South China Sea Disputes, funded by Social Science Planning Office of Fujian  Province
